Custom Aluminum Doors and Windows: Everything You Can Customize

Off-the-shelf aluminum doors fit average openings. Your projects are not average. Here is everything that can be configured on a custom order — and how it is produced.

Why customization is the point

A restaurant in Austin needs a 20-foot bifold opening; a high-rise in Miami needs impact-rated sliding doors; a boutique hotel needs a finish nobody else has. Custom fabrication is what turns a catalog product into a project solution — and it is what X Star does on every order.

What you can customize

1. Size — down to the millimeter

Any opening within the system's engineering limits can be produced. Width, height, panel count and panel layout are all configurable. Send us the rough opening; we handle the rest.

2. Configuration and opening style

  • Folding and bifold doors: 3-panel, 4-panel, 6-panel or more; inward or outward opening
  • Sliding doors: standard, narrow-frame, lift-and-slide, or automatic sensor operation
  • Windows: casement, hung, folding, fixed and combinations

3. Glazing

Double glazing, laminated glass, Low-E coatings, tinted glass, tempered or impact glass — glazing is selected for your climate, code requirements and budget.

4. Colors and finishes

Any RAL powder coat color, plus wood-grain transfer finishes that look like timber without the maintenance. White, black, bronze, silver — or a custom color matched to your project palette.

5. Hardware

Standard hardware is included, with upgrades available to German and US brand hardware for higher-traffic or premium projects.

6. Compatible screens

Retractable insect screens can be coordinated with your door systems — a cassette that stores the mesh when not in use, keeping the opening completely clear.

How a custom order actually works

  1. Send your project scope — opening sizes, configuration, finish, glass, quantity and delivery ZIP code
  2. We confirm the engineering — our team reviews what is possible within the selected system and flags anything that needs a different approach
  3. You approve a CAD drawing — you see exactly what will be manufactured before production starts
  4. We build, trial-assemble, and ship — with assembly and inspection records for your order

The rule we don't bend

We only confirm what the drawing shows. Every custom order is defined by its approved production drawing — so what you see is exactly what ships.

Custom aluminum, without the guesswork
